PLASTER FOR YOUR MOULDS

I've used three different types of plaster, all of which are great for casting with.

PLASTER OF PARIS

Plaster of Paris is also known as FINECASTING plaster. It's sets quite chalky though and the finished casts aren't really very strong.

HERCULITE No 2

This plaster is much stronger than plaster of paris. I use this all the time.

HERCULITE

Also known as Herculite Stone or Stoneplaster. This is the strongest plaster I've used to date. It has a longer setting time - (about 45 to 60 minutes) - but it's well worth the wait!

WHERE CAN I BUY PLASTER FROM?

We don't sell plaster I'm afraid, but you can get it from most craft or DIY shops. If you’ll be using lots of plaster then it is MUCH MUCH cheaper to buy it from a builders merchants! They sell it in 25 Kilo sacks and you won’t believe how cheap it is compared to what you’d pay in craft shops!

If you want to buy Plaster of Paris then you should ask for ‘Fine Casting Plaster’. The other 2 types are known by their names above.

Happy Casting!
